Held by God's Hand

Isaiah 41:8-14

As someone that suffers daily with chronic pain (Fibromyalgia), this verse hit me between the eyes:

10So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Did you know that one symptom of Fibromyalgia is hyper sensitivity to touch?

Just touching my hand can cause me pain.

... but in the middle of the storm that is yet another day with pain, God doesn't just stand with me, He doesn't just offer to deliver much needed strength and help, He says He will, "uphold (me) with (His) righteous right hand."

In the 'Reflect and Pray' section the question is asked:

In what dificult seasons has God seemed especially close to you?

Answer? All of them. Not even joking. If the past four years living with Fibromyalgia has taught me anything, it's that on the ground, struggling to get up let alone move, that's when I'm closest to God.
