At first, I couldn't relate to this daily devotional. The 'Reflect & Pray' asked the following question:
What trials are overwhelming you at the moment?
The devotional had compared the beatings of Pastor Laxman in India, to Job's sufferings.
How could I compare to this? I've never been tortured for my faith. I haven't suffered all that Job has suffered.
Then I re-read the question ... "What trials are overwhelming you at the moment?"
This isn't about comparing my life to Paster Laxman's or Job's. It's about looking at my life. Mine. No-one else's.
I do suffer daily. I have Fibromyalgia. This gives me varying amounts of pain in varying places in my body ... and yes, at times it's overwhelming.
So reader, I put the question to you: What trials are overwhelming you at the moment?
The same God that supported Job, supported Pastor Laxman, and supports me. If you seek Him, He will support you too.
