It started as an idea for something I could make for my wife with my sewing machine.
Using the software 'Fashion Draw' on the iPad, I created a sketch:

I was wondering what the simplest dress I could create was, and found the shift dress in an edition of Simply Sewing magazine.
I then found a simple pattern online here:

Finally, using a stock stage and animation I put together this:
View higher-res (protected)Sadly this video render was also a lesson in the harsh reality of creating video animations, in that compromises have to be made. In order for this animation to look as you see it, I had to remove the zip from the back and change the fabric to something heavier and "stickier" (?) (increased friction) so that it would move correctly with the avatar.
