1.  Introduction   [28th Jan 2025]

I am interested in fashion illustration and design, primarily but not exclusively for female fashion. One reason is that more clothing options are available for females, such as dresses, skirts, and accessories. Another reason is that a female can generally style her hair in many more ways, which can be tailored to suit an outfit. This all started in Second Life, where I enjoyed putting together outfits for my avatars.

If you would like to look at my past work, look at the following Flickr account:

I have since learned that putting together outfits is the work of a wardrobe stylist. Here's a good explanation of this:

Within Second Life, though, I became frustrated with many impractical and immodest clothing options and set about creating my own. This turned out to be a lot harder than it looked. Some very skilled people are out there, and they use various tools and techniques to create some spectacular clothing. For me, though, as someone looking to take the tentative step of moving from wardrobe stylist to virtual seamster* I elected to use a product called Marvelous Designer.

*Things I did not know:

I will not be able to create posts regularly as I suffer from Fibromyalgia, and there are days when it is painful to use my hands. Fibromyalgia also brings with it varying levels of cognitive impairment, so I employ Grammarly to help with my writing. I use it only to offer suggested corrections/changes – I have mixed feelings about using AI to create or generate things from scratch.
